The Keys

The Florida Keys, or the island chain off the tip of Florida, offer several different locations for charter fishing. Islamorada, part of the Upper Keys, boasts world-class big game fishing, and is renowned as the sport-fishing capital of the world. Key West also features many different charter fishing opportunities, and it has the largest marina in all of the Keys.

Lake Okeechobee

Lake Okeechobee offers several freshwater charter trips on the largest lake in Florida. This lake gets stocked on a regular basis, which makes for great fishing opportunities. The maximum depth for Lake Okeechobee is 17 feet, with an average of about nine feet. This makes for a prime fishing area.

Boca Grande

Boca Grande sits on the south west edge of Florida, close to Fort Myers. This area boasts a ton of tarpon charter fishing. Tarpon can grow to huge sizes; the biggest one caught in Florida weighed 243 pounds. Boca Grande even hosts a tournament every July for tarpon.
